The 2013 Festival is open to instrumentalists and vocalists (solo and ensembles) from ages 5 to 26 years old, based upon either a recorded or live audition. To apply for admission:
Golden Key Music Festival
81 Five Points Rd.
Colts Neck, NJ 07722
United States of America.
Each application requires a recorded or live audition performance of the specific music selection intended for performance at the Festival. The music selection should be a part of the standard repertory from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, or Modern Era and performed from memory. A Sonata/Sonatina movement or a part of another cyclic form (Suite, Prelude & Fugue, Concerto, etc.) is considered as one music selection.
Solo instrumental and vocal performances as well as ensembles (e.g. one piano four-hands, violin and piano duet, chamber and vocal groups, etc.) are welcome. Please note: only one piano in all concert halls is available. Selections are usually five minutes or less. Longer selections require additional fees. See the explanation of Fees below.
Multiple entries from the same participant or ensemble are also accepted. See the explanation of Fees below.
We highly recommend that you include a recorded performance by the applicant as part of the application process. Recorded performances have the advantage of being playable more than once. Judges can spend more time with the piece and provide more complete comments than would be possible during a live audition.
Recorded performances can be mailed as a CD or DVD, emailed as an attachment, or sent as a link to YouTube or some other publically accessible internet site. CDs must be playable on a standard audio CD player or a standard Windows computer. DVDs must be playable on a standard US region DVD player (NTSC format). Emailed attachments should be playable on a standard Windows computer. Send email to goldenkeyfest@gmail.com. Internet submissions must include the entire URL (clickable link).
If you do not choose to record a performance, live auditions will be held at the location and date listed below.
