Maestro Carlos Juliá (Barcelona, Catalonia) is a Catalonian pianist, music educator, and judge with a well-established international reputation.
A former student of María Canals, Raquel Millàs, Xavier Turull, and Ramón Coll, Professor Julia is now Head of the Piano Department at the Manresa Conservatory. He has taught piano courses and master classes on Menorca and at the Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya. He is an author and collaborator on many academic publications and has been invited as a guest-speaker at professional conferences, such as the Conference of Piano Professors of Catalonia.
He has been a frequent judge for national and international piano competitions, including the San Sebastian International Piano Competition, the Santa Cecilia Competition (Don Juan de Borbón Foundation), the National Piano Competition at León, the Young Performers from Catalonia Competition at Vilafranca, and the Cuidad de Manresa Competition.
His pupils have won numerous national and international piano competitions. And many of them have become well known concert performers and educators.
