Welcome to Alberti's music world
American Concert Alliance
published the album of eight
sonatas for piano by Domenico
Alberti (ca.1710 – 1740). We
believe that the album,
originally written for the
cembalo,
was
never copied since mid of the
XVIII century. Most of us, who
have been practicing piano since
young age, learned Alberti’s
name even before Mozart’s or
Beethoven’s. His place in music
history is firmly secured by the
accompaniment device named after
him – Alberti’s Bass. And for
most of us, that is all we know
about his contribution to music.
For piano performers, Alberti
always appears in someone else’s
shadow – of Haydn, Mozart,
Beethoven, et al. But in his
time Alberti was one of the
most significant heralds for the
Classical Era. His innovations
in music were adapted by de
Rossi, Paradies, J.C.Bach,
Rutini, J.Haydn, Clementi,
Beethoven. In fact, young
Mozart modeled his first violin
sonatas on Alberti. We hope
that original Alberti’s music
would be interesting to
professionals as well as to
amateur musicians.
“
It’s a wonderfully printed book
with excellent edition…”
- Prof. Marcella Crudeli (Roma,Italy)
“This prize of captured golden
sunlight of seventeen hundred
Italy provides the intermediate
level amateur pianist, young or
older, access to musically rich
and rewarding pieces, while
allowing the advanced player to
reveal more subtle facets. The
music lover and musicologist
alike are indebted to the
editors, George and Boris
Borisov, for bringing Alberti’s
influential compositions to the
attention of the general
public.” - Dr. James
Manganaro (Princeton, USA)
Alberti’s
sonatas are distributed
upon personal request from the
Golden Key Festival supporters.
