Auditions

Acceptance: pianists ages 5 - 16 .Winners will be selected in two age categories: 5 through 12 and 13 through 16.

Preliminary round: mail by February 1,2008

a) video or audio recording of one music selection from Baroque, Classical, Romantic or Modern eras up to 5 minutes in duration; b) copy of performing score; c) proof of age (copy of Birth Certificate, passport’s page or other type of age ID); d) filled application form together with $120 application fee*

Written evaluation will be mailed to the teacher and independent contestant on March 10,2007. Every contestant will receive the colorful Competition’s booklet with printed in his/her name and program

 

Final round: audition on May 4,2008 at Steinway Hall, New York City

Contestant should perform from memory two music selections: 1) fast movement of Baroque or Classical Sonata/Sonatina, which texture contains at least four measures of Alberti Bass, 2) free choice (not longer than 5 min. Preliminary round piece may be repeated.) Music score for both pieces must be provided to the judges. The results will be announced immediately after the Audition.
