The Third Alberti Piano Competition will be held
in Jakarta, Indonesia, July 30 - August 5, 2012, sponsored by Elly Lim Conservatory
of Music (Indonesia) and the Golden Key Music Festival (USA).
Named after Domenico Alberti, the Italian composer and father of the Alberti bass, the Alberti Piano Competition has drawn competitive young piano virtuosos from all over the world since its creation in 2007.
The competition is open to pianists of any nationality from 3 through 26 years old in eight age groups.*

Each contestant will perform two pieces according to the repertoire required for that age group. Winners will be selected by an international panel of judges.
First, Second and Third level winners will be honored by a Laureate Diploma in the First, Second or Third Degree and a Laureate Medal or Trophy. Laureates in all age groups will be invited to perform at Carnegie Hall, (New York, USA) during the United States Golden Key Festival in May 2013. But Laureates in age groups F, G, and H will also be eligible to receive cash prizes. The amount of the cash prizes will be determined in March 2012.
Fourth, Fifth and Six level winners will receive a corresponding Diploma and Medal or Trophy. Competitors who do not reach a winning level will receive a Certificate of Participation and a commemorative souvenir from the Competition Organizing Committee.
The teachers of all winners will be awarded Certificates of Excellence.
Domenico Alberti Prize - $500.00 and a special Diploma will be awarded to the best performer of Alberti's composition. This Prize was established by the American Concert Alliance, Inc. and Mr. Boris Borisov, Jr.
Elly Lim Prize - $500.00 and a special Diploma will be awarded for the best performance of a piano composition by an Indonesian composer. Recommended (not mandatory) composers include: Ananda Sukarlan (1968- ), Trisutji Kamal (1936- ), Yazeed Djamin (1950-2001), Amir Pasaribu (1915-2010), and Mochtar Embut (1934-1973). Andrey Komanetsky Prize - $300.00 and a special Diploma will be awarded for the best performance of Juggler by the modern American composer, A. Komanetsky. This Prize was established by the Golden Key Music Festival.
The Organizing Committee welcomes the creation of additional Special Prizes with the help of individual or Corporate sponsors. Please check for an updated prize list on our web site in March 2012.
Winners of Laureate Diplomas in the First, Second, and Third degree as well as the Alberti and Elly Lim Prizes must participate in at least one of the Competition's Gala Concerts on a non-honorarium basis in order to receive their awards and honors. The concerts will be held during the Competition week, July 30 - August 5, 2012. Other awards will be granted to the winners on the day of the competition.
During the Competition week in Jakarta the Organizing Committee will offer participants and their families and friends a series of lectures, concerts, and master classes given by prominent musicians from the United States, the European Union, Indonesia, and Russia. The Organizing Committee is also planning a Conference/Round Table Discussion among music teachers and music scholars on historical and practical aspects of piano performance art.
Guided tours to the most attractive cultural and natural landmarks of Indonesia will be offered to competition participants by Jakarta Tourist Agency.
