How to Apply

You can apply for entry to the Alberti Piano Competition in one of three ways:

Semi-Electronic Submission
First Class Mail to Indonesia
First Class Mail to the United States

Option 1: Semi-Electronic Submission

Note: This payment option is open to applicants of any country but is the only option for applicants within Indonesia.

Download the Competition Application Form in either Word Format or PDF Format.
Fill out the required information. Instructions are included with the Application Form. The Word form can be filled out electronically and used for electronic submission. The PDF must be filled out by hand and scanned in order to submit electronically. If possible, name all electronic files beginning with your last name and one or more initials in order to make it easier to identity your particular electronic files, e.g. smith_tp.doc, smith_tp.pdf, smith_tp.jpg.
Create electronic proof of the age of the performer (e.g. a scan or PDF of birth certificate, passport, driver's license, etc.)
Create electronic proof of the payment of the required application fees (e.g. scan or PDF of receipt)
Email all three electronic files to:

Option 2: First Class Mail to Indonesia

Download the Competition Application Form in either Word Format or PDF Format.
Fill out the required information. Instructions are included with the Application Form.
Enclose proof of the age of the performer (e.g. copy of birth certificate, passport, or driver's license)
Enclose a bank draft check or money order for the appropriate application fees payable to Elly Lim.
Send completed forms and fees via first class mail to:

This type of payment is not available to residents in Indonesia who need to use electronic payment (Option 1).

Option 3: First Class Mail to the United States

Note: This option is available to applicants from the United States or from any other country except Indonesia.

Download the Competition Application Form in either Word Format or PDF Format.
Fill out the required information. Instructions are included with the Application Form.
Enclose proof of the age of the performer (e.g. copy of birth certificate, passport, or driver's license)
Enclose a personal check, bank check, or money order in US dollars only made out to Golden Key Music Festival for the application fee(s). On the check/money order's memo line, please include the words: Alberti Piano Competition and the competitor(s) name(s).

Application Fees and Requirements

A single contestant may choose to enter the competition with more than one set of performances. Those performance sets can be in the same age category or a higher age category. But each performance set requires a separate entry fee. And each performance set is judged separately against performers in that age category.

A contestant can choose to receive written comments from the judges on a performance set for an additional fee of $50 (Rp.450.000). This request can only be made at the time of application and the appropriate fee must be included along with your general application fee.

A contestant may also choose to compete for one or more of the Special Prizes for an additional fee of $20 (Rp. 180.000) for each prize. The Alberti and Run-Ai Luo Prizes require no additional fees. All contestants for special prizes must be part of the general Alberti Competition.

General application fees depend upon the date of submission. Early submissions receive a discounted rate.

Note: All fees are non-refundable. Fees listed above do not includes fees for written comments or special prizes.

Notification

By July 30, 2012, each contestant will be notified by mail/ email/ phone about the date and time of his/her performance. Each contestant will also receive an Invitation Letter with a list of Hotels and restaurants in Jakarta with special discounts for contestants and accompanying family members and friends. It is the responsibility of the contestant or the contestant's representative (family member, teacher, etc.) to book the hotel. Every contestant will have at least one hour per day of practicing time in the Elly Lim Music Studio during the Competition week. The practicing schedule will be sent to the contestant upon request. If you need more than an hour per day for practicing, please email the Elly Lim Music Studio.
