to the Second Alberti International
Youth Piano Competition. Many of us who found ourselves at an early
age among a legion of piano kids forced to practice the Alberti
Bass, learned his name before that of either Mozart or Beethoven. In
music , Alberti Bass can be considered to be on the same level of
ingenuity as the invention of the wheel in everyday life. The simple
structure of a broken chord opened a new world in sound-space that
ushered in the Golden Era of homophonic music. Naturally enough that
we decided to celebrate Domenico Alberti’s name by young pianist
contest at the years of his presumable tri-century jubilee.
The First Alberti’s Competition at 2007 attracted 87 young virtuosi
from Malaysia, People’s Republic of China, Russia, Ukraine and the
United States
Twenty five of them became Laureates and Diplomantes in six age
categories.
At the year of 2008 on behalf of the Organizing Committee I would
like to thanks our future contestants and their teachers, families
and friends for support of our event. I wish you the best of luck
along the thorny but exciting path of the Competition.
I want to thanks also our highly acclaimed International juries
members, public Institutions and people who granted their patronage
to the Competition.
